Vertical access that stays usable
A ladder that is awkward to use will be misused. Power Comms Structures supplies and installs fixed access ladders, safety cages, intermediate platforms and industrial staircases for plant rooms, roofs, mezzanines and external building access. We deliver both standard configurations and bespoke runs where the structure or existing steelwork will not accept a catalogue product.
Where a staircase is the right answer — frequent use, tools and materials, or a mixed workforce — we install industrial stairs and landings rather than forcing a vertical ladder. Where a ladder is specified, rest platforms, cages or complementary fall arrest are included as the design requires.
Roof, plant and mezzanine connections
Typical work includes roof-access ladders from yard or gantry level, internal ladders to high-level plant, and mezzanine access stairs that have to interface with live operations. Finishes are galvanised or powder-coated to suit the environment. We coordinate hoisting, temporary works and making-good so the install does not stall the wider programme.
If a hatch, guardrail or walkway is part of the same access route, we can install the package together. That avoids a gap between “the ladder is done” and “nobody has protected the roof edge yet”.
Specified, installed, documented
We work to the access standard and manufacturer detail specified on the project. Site measure is available where as-built dimensions differ from the drawing — which they often do on refurbishment work. Handover includes the installed configuration so future inspections and modifications start from fact, not memory.
