Eyebolt Work
Installation, inspection and proof testing of safety eyebolts — single-user fall-arrest and rope-access anchors set out for the structure and handed over with test records.
Eyebolt work: install it, then prove it
A safety eyebolt — an eye bolt — is only an anchor if it is the right product for the background, fixed as the manufacturer specifies, and proof tested in place. Power Comms Structures carries out eyebolt work across the UK for maintenance teams, rope-access contractors and building owners who need a single-user attachment point they can trust.
Installation and testing follow the anchor manufacturer’s instructions and the British and European standards that apply to that product, commonly BS EN 795 for the anchor device and BS 7883 for personal fall-protection anchor systems. We install to that detail and test to the specified proof load.
Set out for the work that will actually happen
Eye bolts placed on a random grid are awkward to use and easy to overload in the wrong direction. We set eyebolts out to the working drawing and the route people will actually take: roof access, plant, façade rope access, and short-duration maintenance where a lifeline is more than the job needs. Backgrounds include concrete, structural steel and suitable masonry.
Existing eye bolts can be inspected and retested rather than replaced on sight. If a fixing fails its load, it comes out of service and we report it. Where the same visit needs a wider check, pull testing and davit testing are booked together.
Handover with positions and test results
Completed eyebolt work is handed over with as-built positions, the product installed, the proof load applied and a certificate for each anchor. Facilities teams know what is on the roof, what it was tested to, and when it should be looked at again.
Send the drawing or a set of photographs, the substrate, and how many eye bolts you need. We will confirm the fixing, the test, access and a clear price.

Questions about this work
Which standards do you install and test eyebolts to?
Installation and testing follow the anchor manufacturer’s instructions and the British and European standards that apply to that product, commonly BS EN 795 for the anchor device and BS 7883 for personal fall-protection anchor systems.
Do you proof test every eyebolt you install?
Yes. A safety eyebolt is handed over only after it has been fixed as specified and proof tested in place. You receive the as-built position, the product installed, the proof load and a certificate for each anchor.
Can you retest eyebolts that are already on the building?
Yes. Existing eye bolts can be inspected and retested rather than replaced on sight. A fixing that fails its load is taken out of service and reported.
